30 January 2001 (TEAMtalk.com) -- Anderlecht striker Jan Koller could be on his way to Sunderland in an £8million deal after admitting his desire to play in the Premiership.
Sunderland have been persistently linked with the 6ft 7in hitman as a replacement for injury-plagued striker Niall Quinn, and Black Cats boss Peter Reid, who watched the 27-year-old in action during Euro 2000, would be interested in bringing him to Wearside.

Koller's admission that he would relish a move to England will almost certainly prompt Sunderland into making a bid for the Czech international, particularly with Reid recently admitting he was looking to bolster his current squad.

First Division leaders Fulham had a £6million bid for the hitman rejected earlier this season, and they will also be on red alert after Koller said: "It is my dream to play in England. Some people say the Premier League is not as good as Spain or Italy, but I disagree."

Sunderland would have to smash their current transfer record to land Koller, who would become available if Anderlecht crash out of the Champions League, which resumes in a fortnight.
